Olet varmaan uusia palveluita etsiessäsi huomannut, että on kovin vaikeaa löytää oikeaa palveluntarjoajaa läheltä tai ehkä hieman kauempaakin. Lehtien ja puhelinluettelon selailu ovat erittäin hyviä hakukeinoja, mutta mikäli tahdot tutustua rauhassa palveluntarjoajiin paikasta riippumatta, vaikka kotona, töissä, koulussa tai kirjastossa, olisi tämä varmasti mukavaa tehdä internetin välityksellä. Malmi.org on kehitetty helpottamaan Koillis-Helsingin ja sen lähialueiden ihmisiä löytämään oikeat palveluidentarjoajat helposti.
Malmi on Koillis-Helsingin aluekeskus. Alueeseen kuuluvat Fallkulla, Heikinlaakso, Jakomäki, Latokartano, Malmi, Pihlajamäki, Pihlajisto, Puistola, Pukinmäki, Savela, Siltamäki, Suutarila, Tapanila, Tapaninkylä, Tapulikaupunki, Tattariharju, Tattarisuo ja Viikki. Asukkaita Koillis-Helsingin alueella on noin 90 000.
